Willie James "Jim" Garrison

Willie James “Jim” Garrison, 68, of Hege Drive, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center following one year of declining health. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2012, at Freedom Baptist Church, where he attended church, with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Mr. Garrison was born March 19, 1944, in Davidson County, to Hubert Garrison and Velna Medlin Garrison. He was a former machine operator at Lexington Furniture Industries. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Hubert Garrison and Albert Garrison; and sister, Mary Jane Martin. Surviving are wife, Lois “Granny” Barker Garrison of the home; son, Gene Barker and wife, Angela, of Lexington; daughter, Marla Garrison; granddaughter, Carleigh Barker; and sister, Betty Livengood of Lexington.
