Willie Dean Gibson

Willie Dean Gibson, age 69 of Gibson Pond Way, Lexington passed away Monday (August 23, 2010) at Duke Medical Center. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday (August 26, 2010 at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy Sloop and Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. The family will greet friends following the service, as they exit the church. Dean was born in Davidson County April 8, 1941 to Willie Kermit Gibson and Dera Parker Gibson. He was a member of Central Baptist Church; former owner and operator of North Carolina Ceramic Supplies and managed Derak in Salisbury. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Iris Jean Gibson and Louise Davis. Surviving are: wife Kathy Shoaf Gibson of the home; one daughter, Dera Smith and husband Craig of Lexington; one son Kevin Gibson and wife Sue of Greensboro; two step-sons, Eddie Martin and Kelly Martin and wife Mary all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Nicole Martin, Hannah Martin, Lillie Martin, Jonathon Martin and Chase Dorsett Martin; one brother Thomas Gerald Gibson and wife Jerrellann of Lexington; two nieces, Ann Michael and Sissy Young; four nephews, Jerry Gibson, Tommy Davis, Jimmy Davis and Steve Davis.
