Willie Harrelson

Mr. Willie Francis Harrelson, 85, of East Center Street, Ext., died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Abbotts Creek Care and Rehab. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 21 at Friendship United Methodist Church, by Rev. Patrick Snow. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 3074. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Harrleson was born June 1, 1926 in Horry County, SC to Marion Francis Harrleson and Fleetwood Worley Harrelson. He was a graduate of Louisburg College and retired from Dixie Furniture Company. Mr. Harrelson served in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 3074. His wife, Doris Walser Harrelson, preceded him in death on August 19, 2001, as well his sister, Jean Harrelson Blanton. He is survived by his daughters, Jayne Leonard and husband, Michael, and Cindi Guske and husband, Randy, both of Lexington; his brothers, Johnnie Harrelson of High Point and Terry Harrelson of Florida; two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
