Willie Mae Smith Harrison, 89, of East Old Highway 64, passed away Sunday, June 10,2012, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Hedricks Grove United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Harrison was born September 26, 1922, in Davidson County, to William Early Smith and Oleta Younts Smith. She was retired owner/operator of Willie Mae’s Beauty Shop. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne Jessie Harrison.
Surviving are her son, Larry Harrison Sr. of Lexington and special friend, Gloria Braxton, of Thomasville; daughter, Lynda Charles and husband, Wayne, of Lexington; grandchildren, Larry Wayne Harrison and wife, Chastity, Mike Charles, and Jeff Charles, all of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Megan Charles, Hailey Harrison, Brianna Harris, and Landon Harrison; brother, John William “Bill” Smith and wife, Rosemary, of Columbia, S.C.; and sisters, Edna Fritts of Lexington, Sarah Frances Harrison of Denton; sister-in-laws, Myrtle Lee Prichard of Asheboro and Lucille Turner of Denton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
