Willie Broadway Jones

Willie Elizabeth Bradshaw Jones, 88, of Primrose Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at her home after declining health of one year. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member, by Dr. Wayne Knight and Bishop Ronnie Shaw. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born in Lenoir on Sept. 11, 1917, to Charlie Bradshaw and Cennie Deaver Bradshaw. She retired from Lexington Memorial Hospital after 28 years of service as a certified nursing assistant. She spent several years after retirement performing private duty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Jones, on May 15, 1996. Surviving are one son, Lloyd C. Carter Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Lexington; four daughters, Catherine Goodman and her husband, Larry, of Carolina Shores, Betty Smith, Ruby Tallent and her husband, Robert, and Mary Miller and her husband, Kermit, all of Lexington; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, O'Neil Bradshaw of Thomasville, Ga. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home.
