Willie Oscar Owen, age 96 of Spring Drive, Lexington passed away Saturday evening June 17, 2017 at his home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday June 20, 2017 at Becks Reformed Church where he was a member with Rev. Dr. Steve Disher officiating. Burial will follow in Becks Reformed Cemetery with military honors by Davidson County Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday night. Mr. Owen was born in Davidson County May 28, 1921 to Cuther Decimal Owen and Rosa Lorena Crook Owen. He was a retired mechanic with Ford Motor Company, and was known to many as “The Transmission Man”. He served his country in the US Army during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 3074 and American Legion Post 8. He was also a member of Amvets Post NC0013, was an outdoorsman, and a member of Uncle Jims Hunt Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pearl Sprinkle and Ruby Brown; brothers, Elzavan Owen, Lewis Owen and Buford Owen. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann Hines Owen; daughters, Rebekah Jane Tucker (Keith) and Martha Jean Swing (Mike) all of Lexington; grandson, Barry Scott Tucker (Whitney) of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Ella Grace Tucker and Daniel Scott Tucker; brother, Vernon Owen of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Becks Reformed Church Cemetery, 2845 Becks Church Road, Lexington, NC  27292 Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
