Wilma Sue Hill Coram, age 82, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, in her hometown of Winston-Salem, N.C.
Wilma was a graduate of Hanes Senior High School and grew up in High Point, N.C. Mrs. Coram, as she was affectionately called, was a school bus driver for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School system from 1977–1982. She also owned and operated Coram’s Dance Studio in Midway, N.C. from 1980-1989, and Accessories Inc., in Midway, N.C. from 1980-2016.
Wilma was preceded in death by the love of her life, Donald C. Coram, after 56 years of marriage, her parents George Henry Hill, Sr. and Rissie Smith Hill, sisters Bobbie Wall, Linda Trivette Hill, Ellen Ayers, and brother George H. Hill, Jr.
Wilma is survived by her four daughters that she affectionally referred to by number, and son-in laws, Donna C. Coram (#1) and Jeffrey Scott Hall; Lisa C. Long (#2) and Kelly L. Long; Debra C. Troxell (#3) and Michael Troxell; Sherri Swain (#4) and David Swain, Jr.: six grandchildren Christopher “Chris” Long (Nicki), Tristan Long, Zachary “Zach” Hall, Adam Hall (Alondra), Anna Troxell, Sarah Troxell, two great-grandchildren, Cooper Kelly Long and Adelyn Grace Hall, and a special niece Tammy Louya.
Wilma will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be 10 am Friday at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends from 5-7 pm Thursday October24, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. The family will also see friends immediately following the graveside service at the home.
