Wilma Truly Walser Hanes, age 88 went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Monday, June 11, 2012 with her loving children by her side. The funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Pastors Ken Harris and T. W. Bailey. Burial will follow to Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel other times at the home of the daughter Charlotte Massengill at 147 Shady Hanes Road. Wilma was born June 25, 1923 in Davidson County to Artis Walser and Ethel James Walser. She was a homemaker and retired from Kohler Furniture. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Shady Hanes; a twin brother, William Walser, her sister; Delta Essick, Versie Ader, Perlie Cole. Surviving are her five daughters; Frances Cole and late husband Gene Cole of Sycamore, Ohio, Darlyn Killian and husband Joe, Charlotte Massengill, Martha Stephens and husband Barry, Joanne Leonard and husband James (Doyle). Her three sons; Wesley Hanes and wife Linda, Baxter Hanes and fiancé Carolyn Clodfelter and Raeford Hanes all of Lexington. Her nine grandchildren; Tony Cole of El paso, Texas, David Cole of Wellington, Ohio, Johnny Hanes, Glenda Essic, Regina Williams and the late Timmy Killian, Bryan Berrier, Shannon Leonard and Nicholas Leonard of Lexington. Her eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson; Oliver Wayne Perez of Wellington, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane Winston Salem NC 27103, Union Grove Baptist Church 2295 Union Grove Road, Lexington NC 27295, First Baptist Church of Welcome 404 Welcome Arcadia Road Po Box 269 Welcome NC 27374. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother. She was loved by all. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
