Wilma Mcbride Smith

Wilma McBride Smith, 93, of Lexington, passed away August 11, 2024, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday August 14, 2024, at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, with The Reverend Ray Nance Howell IV officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the grave.

Wilma was born March 27, 1931, in Davidson County, the last surviving of the children of William Gray McBride and Nancy Viola Barnes McBride. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church (New Hope Presbyterian) and retired from Duracell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Edison Smith who died November 21, 2009, brothers, Howard, Charlie, Bill, Franklin, and Don McBride, sisters, Elizabeth Grubb, Irene Grubb, Ellen Parnell, Creola Myers, and an infant sister.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Jerry Smith and wife Becky of Churchland, Randy Smith and wife Donna of Midway. Three grandchildren, Jason Smith, Jansen Smith (Emerson), and Meghan Smith Koonts (Justin).
