Wilma Walser Leonard, 99, of Davidson County, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living, in Salisbury, NC.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Sandy Creek Cemetery.
Wilma was born on July 19, 1925, in Davidson County, to the late Albert Walser and Josie Shoaf Walser. She spent her life as a homemaker and loved caring for her family by cooking meals that will always be remembered.
She found pleasure in her flower beds and enjoyed tending to her garden in her younger years. Her love for the Lord never wavered even when she could no longer attend Sunday services at her lifelong church, St. Luke’s Lutheran.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, G. Cecil Leonard; son, Tony Leonard; brothers, Elmer Walser, Willie Gray Walser, and Archie Walser; and sisters, Louise Walser Young, Pallie Walser Mize, and Kathleen Walser Yates.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Lynn Leonard; grandson, Eric Brent Leonard; step grandsons, Nicolas Jessee (Hope) and Brian Jessee; great grandson, Colby Leonard; and sister-in-law, Gilda Greer.
