Windy Dennis Anderson

Windy Dennis Anderson passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022, at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.  A graveside service will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 6pm – 8pm.

Windy was born on March 26, 1962, to the late Carolyn Dennis and Thomas Dennis.  She spent the majority of her professional life in the healthcare field beginning with being a phlebotomist.  She received more training and became a pharmacy technician.  Her remaining time was spent as a Senior Professional Medical Coder at Wake Forest Baptist, and professional medical coding instructor thru the AAPC.  She was a member of the Hot Flash Players where she acted, directed, and stage managed.  She also had a minor speaking role in the movie Reggie.   Her love of gardening was displayed throughout her home and yard.  But her greatest love other than her family was her church.  She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.  Her faith in God led her to serve in many roles in her church over the years.

She is survived by her sister, Ginger Leonard (Clayton) of Lexington, half-sister Amy Payton (Matthew) of Clovis, California, sister’s in-law Terry Leonard (Ben), Sharon Myers (Dylan), both of Lexington, Anna Day (Robert) of Snodland England, BIL Andy Anderson (Shirley) of Lexington.  She was preceded in death by her spouse Donald Anderson.  Although Windy did not have any children, she had numerous nieces and nephews, Celeste Rohlfing (Mark), Sarah Edwards (Drew), Noah Myers, Natalie Myers, Michael Leonard (Rachel), Chris Leonard, Eric Leonard, and Trevor Leonard.  She was known to Trevor as his mom-Aunt ever since he was born.

Windy requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Lexington NC, or Hospice of Davidson County.
