Zada "Sue" Byerly Pierce

Zada “Sue” Pierce of Arcadia Township passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.   Mrs. Pierce was born in Davidson County on June 22, 1928 to the late Jonah Matthew “Mac” Byerly and Emma Mae Hege Byerly. In addition to her parents she was also preceded by her husband, John Raleigh Pierce; son, Timothy H. Pierce; daughter, Casi Jane “Janie” Pierce Hill; brothers, Phillip, Jack and Preston Byerly; sister, Edith Byerly Brewer.   In her early years, Mrs. Pierce worked in textiles. She worked 40 years in the medical field as a CNA. She retired from the Blumenthal Jewish Nursing Facility in Clemmons.   Suvivors are son, Johnny (Tammy) Pierce of Clemmons; daughers, Bonnie (Charles) Brewer of Mocksville, Emma (Lacy) Hanes of Lexington, Penny (Mike) Grube of Virginia; son-n-law Leroy Hill of Clemmons; sister, Letha Mae Byerly Eaton of Thomasville; grandchildren, Chad (Arin) Brewer of Rhode Island, Brian Brewer of Mocksville, Tabitha (Jason) Kirkland of High Point, Randi (David) Frye of Lexington, Staci Knott of Lexington, Zada Lucy Pierce of Clemmons; great-grandchildren, Kayla Brewer, Charles T. Brewer, Brianna Brewer, Bailey Brewer and Zack “J.B.” Knott.   The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:00 PM Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM with the Rev. Larry Thompson officiating.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
