Zeb Barnhardt

Mr. Zeb Vance Barnhardt, age 80 of Hargrave Street, Lexington, NC died Thursday, July 11 at Hinkle Hospice House. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, July 13 at First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Rev. Ray N Howell, III. A private inurnment service will be held in the First Baptist Church Columbarium. The family will hold a reception and greet friends in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the service. Mr. Barnhardt was born June 5, 1933 in Davidson County to John Henry Barnhardt and Minnie Williams Barnhardt. He had worked in sales with Cunningham Brick Company for many years and was a retired employee of The Davidson County School System. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a Mason, he was a member of Lexington Memorial Lodge # 473 AF & AM, and a member of the Oasis Shrine. He was a veteran of the U S Air Force, a member of the American Legion Post # 8, the V F W Post # 3074, AMVET Post # 13 and was a member of Sapona Ridge County Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, by a son-in –law, Jeffrey Lowell Hedrick, by brothers, infant Ted Williams Barnhardt and Don Henry Barnhardt; by sister, Jewell B. South; by half-sisters, Edna B. Wilson and Irene B. Lomax. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Barnes Barnhardt of the home; son, John Graham Barnhardt and wife Gail of Lexington; daughters, Anne Fitzgerald Barnhardt of Lexington and LibbyEssick and husband Larry of Wallburg; Grandsons Ryan Graham Barnhardt and wife Amanda of Savannah, Ga and Cole Andrew Barnhardt of Lexington; great grandson, Brody Barnhardt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 436, Lexington, NC 27293; to Davidson County Educational Foundation Peggy Barnhardt Scholarship Fund, PO Box 444, Lexington, NC 27293; to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or to the Charity of the donor’s choice.
