Zona Long Nifong

Zona Long Nifong, age 94 of Zane Drive passed away early Monday morning, April 18, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 21st at Hebron United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dave L. Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Zona was born in Forsyth County on September 24, 1916 to John David and Pearl Sink Long. She worked at RJR for over 39 years and a member of her church Hebron United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Jasper Nifong and one brother Jacob Long and one sister Mary Motsinger. Surviving are one son Jasper Nifong and wife Patricia of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Felix Long, John Sam Long and two sisters; Jane Gaddy of King and Bettie Sue Hicks of VA.; one grandson, Earl Dodd Nifong and wife Shayne; three great grand-children, Ryan, Forrest and Belle Lauren Wray. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the 1st-2nd-3rd shift at Salem Terrace and the nurses on the 8th floor of Forsyth Medical Center. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
