Bobby Wayne Long 75 of Horseshoe Neck Road Lexington died Wednesday October 7, 2009 at his home. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Monday October 12, 2009 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev, Doug McGee and burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Military Rites by Randolph Honor Guard.
Mr. Long was born March 28 1934 in Westminster, South Carolina to Derrell Long and Beulah Leopard Long. He attended Clemson University and was a retired Electrical Supervisor from Parkdale Mills. He honorable served his country in The US Air Force during the Korean War. His first wife, Maxie Stuart Long preceded him in death. A brother, Cecil Long also preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Queen Long of the home. Sons: Robert Derrell Long, Wayne Anthony Long both of Lexington, Stuart Matthew Long and wife Candice of Concord, Anthony Trent (Tony) Queen and wife Renee` and Russell Scott Queen and wife Tabitha all of Lexington. Daughters: Terri Long Baldwin and husband Rodney of New Mexico, Susan Queen Ranguel and husband Freddie of Greensboro and Kathleen Queen James and friend Dale Giles of Lexington. One sister Gladys Ginn of Greenville, S. Carolina. Fifteen Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Sunday and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane Winston Salem, NC 27103.
