Delano Lee Hedrick

Mr. Delano Lee Hedrick, 74, formerly of Lexington, died Wednesday, February 6 at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 9 at Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ, by the Rev. William Sowers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday at the Church prior to the funeral service. Mr. Hedrick was born January 18, 1939 in Bladen County to Hamet Raymond Hedrick, Sr. and Sue Kathleen Lohr Hedrick. He had worked as a translator at the School of the Blind in Raleigh. He was a member of Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ. In Addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Adkinson and Jackie Chappell; and a brother, H.R. Hedrick Jr. He is survived by his brother, Benny Hedrick and wife, Debra, of High Point; and his sisters, Peggy Wilson of Winston Salem, Judy Conrad and husband, Larry, and Nancy Sue Beck, both of Lexington, and Audrey Sechrest and husband, Lank, of Thomasville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, 3840 Allred Road, Lexington, NC 27292, or to Piedmont Crossing, 100 Hedrick Drive, Thomasville NC 27360.
