Gracy Strickland Hayes, age 89 of
Lexington Health Care and formerly of South Ford Street; Lexington
died Thursday evening at Lexington Health Care.
Mrs. Hayes was born May 11, 1916 in Columbus County to Mack Strickland and Ora Mae Tuberville Strickland. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Johnson Hayes, who died April 1, 1981; and a sister Myrtle Stout.
She is survived by sons, C.J. Hayes and wife Peggy; Ronnie Clyde Hayes and wife Annie; Harry Lee Hayes and wife Ester; Jerry Hayes and wife Silvia, Tommy Hayes and wife Dorthy; John Davis Hayes and wife Carol; James Hayes and wife Sherri; all of Lexington and L.C. Hayes and wife Emogene of Winston-Salem. Daughters Judy Roseberry and husband Ronnie; Darlene Hedrick and husband Jackie; all of Lexington. There are 32 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. a siter Elsie Small of Myrtle Beach, SC
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Terry Coats and Rev. James Messer. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME LEXINGTON and other times at their respective home homes.
