Iva Dean Hunt Hutchins

Iva Dean Hunt Hutchins, 90, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at her home.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Carlton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Thursday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hutchins was born July 5, 1932, in Davidson County, to George William Hunt and Myrtle Clara Farabee Hunt. She was a Charter Member of Reeds Methodist United Church and co-owner of JC Hutchins Motor Co. Iva also greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Iva was preceded in death by her husband, James Carlyle “J.C.” Hutchins; five brothers, Hoyle Hunt, Bill Hunt, Henry Hunt, Beaufort “Boots” Hunt, and Eugene Hunt; five sisters, Virginia Blaylock, Geneva Leonard, Louise Hartley, Marjorie Michael, and Norma Ann Berry; and one son in-law, Norman Carlton.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Janet Lynn Hutchins Carlton of Lexington, and Rose Marie Smith (Larry Wayne) of Lexington; six grandchildren, Tony Smith (Susan), Shannon Cross (Sharon), Robin Leonard (Moe), Rodney Smith (Amber), Daniel Carlton, and Jeanna Carlton; and eight great-grandchildren, Caleb Smith (Makayla), Micah Smith, Ella Marie Smith, Haden Coggins, Hunter Burgett, Hannah Beach, Dillon Carlton, and Madison Carlton. Also surviving is her feline companion, Sweetie.
