J.T. Young

James Thomas "J.T." Young, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Jonathan Goodman. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Born on Tuesday, January 1st, 1935, in Davidson County, James lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. J.T. enjoyed a successful career at Kayby Mills, where he retired after years of dedicated service. His colleagues remember him not only for his strong work ethic but also for his warm spirit and generous heart. Preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Young and Ollie Rhea Young; wife, Ruby Young; infant daughter, Rose Marie; sister, Martha Frank, and his brother, Charles Dallas Young. He was a pillar of strength and resilience for his family, always keeping their cherished memories alive. He is survived by his devoted children: daughter Amy Darrow and her husband Mike; sons Randy Young and his wife Sue, Terry Young and his wife Iris, and Marty Young and his wife Drema. He also leaves behind his cherished sister, Jean Shipton who hold dear the countless memories and bonds built over a lifetime. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
