Jeffrey Aaron Ward, 5, of Holly Brook Circle, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, after a sudden illness.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kenneth Lance. Burial will follow at New Jerusalem United Church of Christ.
Jeffrey was born Jan. 14, 2001, in Rowan County to Bennie Kay Ward Jr. and Pamela Wealing Ward. He was a kindergarten student at Southwood Elementary School. Jeffrey played basketball for the Southwood Tarheels and was a white-belt student at Sidekick Karate.
Surviving are his parents of the home; a twin sister, Makayla Joy Ward of the home; paternal grandparents, Bennie Kay Sr. and Vivian Ward of Lexington; maternal grandparents, Dean and Beverly Wealing of Fowler, Ind.; a great-grandmother, Neva Wealing of Fowler, Ind.; two uncles, Steven Ward and his wife, DeLane, of Lexington, and Rodney Wealing of Fowling, Ind.; and five cousins, Kylie Ward, Salem Ward, Dakotah Wealing, Daphne Wealing and Curtis Wealing.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
