Katherine Jane Russell Surratt

Katherine Jane Russell Surratt, 71 of Lexington peacefully passed from this life to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Alston Brook Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family after an illness of 6 months. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 9, 2011 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Barry Surratt officiating. Burial will follow at Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, 505 Kapstone Crossing, Lexington. Mrs. Surratt was born November 2, 1939 in Davidson County to David Glenn Russell and Maureen Russell Russell. She was Owner/Operator of Catherine’s Curtains from 1985 to 2005, and a member of CenterPoint Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene “Gene” Surratt, March 21, 2005 and also a brother, D.G. Russell. Surviving are a son, Pastor Barry Surratt and wife, Jackie, of Lexington, grandchildren, Morgan, Jenna and Kelli Surratt, Erin Harris and husband, Brandon, great grandson, Joel Taylor Harris, sisters, Eva Snider and Carolyn Ball both of Asheboro. Memorials may be directed to CenterPoint Church, 100 Shawnee Circle, Lexington, N.C. 27295.
