Ruby Medlin Harper, 90, of Century Circle, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by the Rev. Jerry Moore. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery.
Mrs. Harper was born Sept. 10, 1916, in Davidson County to Walter Medlin and Minnie Lee Billings Medlin. She was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ, retired from Dacotah Cotton Mills and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Demus Harper; a son, Walter Gerald Harper; five brothers, Harvey Medlin, Bill Medlin, Crawford Medlin, Paul Medlin and Mont Medlin; and a sister, Jessie Kepley.
Surviving are one son, Lindsey Bryce Harper of Lexington; one daughter, Bonnie Harper of Clemmons; two grandchildren, Heather Galloway and her husband, Richie, of Lexington and Larissa Hess and her husband, Rob, of Greensboro; three great-grandchildren, Chloe Galloway, Abbey Galloway and Caleb Galloway; one brother, Lacey "P.D." Odell Medlin and his wife, Naomi, of Lexington; a special daughter-in-law and friend, Betty June Moore of Lexington; and her dog, Sam.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
