Ruth Musgrave, 84, of Bob Musgrave Road in Lexington, died Tuesday April 16, at her home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday April 18, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, with Pastor David Davis and Preacher Ray Harris officiating services. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Musgrave was born March 24, 1930 in Swain County North Carolina to Sewell Bryan Monteith and Julia Burns Monteith. She was former owner of Granny’s Bait and Tackle and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Norman Musgrave, a daughter Mona Musgrave Tilton, and five sisters; Gaye McCarn, Ovilla Payne, Rema Sisk, Thama Hudson and Gleta Wilson, a grandson Robert (Robbie) Johnson and her parents.
Surviving is a daughter Della Hensley and husband Jackie of Lexington, four grandchildren; Tonya Hensley, Ronald Hensley and wife April, Rhonda Tilton and Nina Parnell, and six great-grandchildren; Racelynn Hensley, Danzi Payne, Johnny Payne, William Varner, Nick Varner and Seth Weaver.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday at Davidson funeral Home and at other times at the home of the granddaughter on Rockcrusher Road in Lexington.
