Travis Scott Ward

March 3, 1981 — September 5, 2025

Travis Ward, 44, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025.

An upcoming memorial service will be announced once information becomes available.

Travis was born on February 3, 1981, in Rowan County, to Vernon Ward and Janice Walker Ward. He worked as a truck driver for several years and enjoyed traveling throughout the surrounding states.

He loved being outdoors and was always happiest when surrounded by the peace and simplicity of the country. Whether fishing, hunting, farming, riding four-wheelers, or spending time on horseback, he found joy and freedom in nature’s wide open spaces. His love for animals was a constant throughout his life, as he always had pets to care for and cherish. The gentleness and devotion he showed toward them reflected the depth of his heart and the love he carried for those closest to him.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Vernon and Janice, of the home; brother, Eddie Ward and wife, Tracie, of Lexington; beloved niece, Amelia Ward; special aunt and uncle, Jeannie and Robert Harrison; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Davidson County Animal Shelter, 490 Glendale Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
