Troy Lankford

Troy Lankford, 63, of Hargrave Street, died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at his home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. James Messer and Jeff Walser. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Lankford was born Jan. 7, 1943, in Wilkes County to Joseph Cornelious Lankford and Mamie Childress Lankford. He was self-employed as a carpenter. Surviving are one son, Curtis Lankford of the home; two daughters, Angela Rebello and Joann Cope, both of Lexington; four grandchildren, Courtney Cope, Anthony Rebello, Michael Rebello and C.J. Lankford; one brother, Robert Lankford of Thomasville; and six sisters, Betty Tilley of King, Louise House and Margie Wall, both of Lexington, Una Hollyfield of Dobson, Jean Coe of High Point and Velma Darnell of Elkin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and at other times at the residence.
