William Clyde Carroll, 69, of Leonard Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
A private service will be Saturday by the Revs. David Purdy and Gena Colorio.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Carroll was born Oct. 10, 1940, in Kings Mountain to Jay Cee Carroll and Ruth Patterson Carroll. He graduated from Appalachian State University Teachers College and was retired from the Davidson County school system after having taught for 34 years. He attended Beulah United Church of Christ. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Kaye Bolin.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Berrier Carroll of the home; brothers Randall "Randy" Carroll and wife Roxanne of Clover, S.C., and Donald Carroll and wife Pat of Kings Mountain; and sisters Becky Carroll and Velma Oliver and husband Richard, all of Kings Mountain.
